Tyntynder Holiday Cottage

Luxury accommodation in private gardens

I visited in late May - Early June 2017 with my Mum and dog, Tyntynder was excellent, it was the most dog friendly place I have been, from the welcome pack for the dog to the safe secure yard.
We stayed in cottage 1 and it was clean, tidy and extremely well presented, amenities were great. Beds and furniture comfortable. Was freezing cold at night but fire heated cottage quickly and effectively all night.
Wood for fire provided, wifi had great coverage.
Excellent location, close to river and walks for the dog. Nice communal area at the back of year for the dog to explore. Quiet even though close to main road.
Overall experience was excellent and would recommend the place to anyone with or without a dog. Our dog had a great time exploring the yards and sleeping in front of the fire!

In a tranquil, tree lined country lane running beside the beautiful Ovens River, nestles Tyntynder Cottage in a lush, green environment

This fully self-contained two bedroom cottage (one of four) is set in one acre of magnificent, private, mature gardens.  The superb gardens are fenced in such a way that each cottage has its own fully fenced private garden solely for the use of that cottage. Tyntynder Cottage is number 1.

Not only do we welcome you and your family, we also cater to your four legged friends. We have a fully fenced yard with direct access from your cottage, so your dog can safely enjoy some green space and natural environment. As a Ride High Country accredited business we also have secure lock up facilities for your bicycle and cycling gear. And for the romantics, or those who just want a quiet getaway our privacy and seclusion will give you the downtime you crave.

A recent interior refurbishment (December 2017) has put the sparkle back into Tyntynder Cottage and resulted in fresh, clean linens, quality decor, mats and furniture, more comfortable dining options, both inside and out, and a much improved kitchen set-up. We want to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

Plan your trip to coincide with a visit to one of the many farmer's markets. You’ll find one operating on any given weekend. Fill your basket with the best farm fresh produce, meet the growers and taste their foods.

Art & Culture

Fine art and local tunes, bushrangers and cattlemen – the High Country is home to numerous museums, studios and art galleries where visitors can delve into the history and creative heritage of the region.

From gentle slopes to rich low plains, from multi-generation family vineyards to innovative young winemakers, there is a diversity and abundance of exceptional wine across six wine regions.

Pets are welcomed as members of your family and they are allowed inside, under supervision. While we allow your pets to stay for free, there are some rules we insist are followed. Pets are not allowed on the beds nor to be washed in the bath. To minimise disturbance to other guests, under no circumstances are dogs to be left alone – either in the cottage or in the garden.  Day or night. When you go out they must go with you unless they are being dogsat.  Dogsitting is available  should you need it. Please enquire when you book. All dog refuse must be picked up before you leave. If any dog refuse or damage is recorded from your stay, you will be charged a cleaning fee.

Away from the noise & bustle but still only one  minute drive to town  (1 klm) or a 20 minute walk in along the Ovens River, just 100 metres away, with access to miles of car free riverside walks. Then its 150 metres to the 92 klms of sealed Rail Trail bike path.

We like to pamper our guests so we have provided luxury, Australian made, eco and body friendly Serendipity toiletries to enjoy in the bathroom and powder room. Take a long soak in the bath. A hairdryer and fluffy white towels are a given.

All our linen and towels are freshly laundered and your beds made ready for your arrival.

Two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen bed. A refreshing blue and white decor scheme features doonas, comfy pillows, crisp white sheets, bedside lamps and tables to provide you with all the comforts in  your garden view rooms.

Take in scenic views, ride along the stunning rail trail, test your limits at the mountain bike park, go fishing, splash with the kids at the water park, fly with the eagles in a tandem hang gliding adventure. There's so much to do.

Submit to the riches of the High Country, where internationally lauded wines flow freely and innovative chefs change their menus with the seasons. Sample fresh handmade cheese, butter and chocolate.

Everything from escorted mountain bike rides or road cycle routes, hang gliding to eco tours, exploring secret fishing spots  to kayaking adventures or even a street art walking tour. You will be spoilt for choice.

Off street car parking is right at your door.

The open plan lounge is spacious with the huge glass doors opening to a private deck and garden. The decor has been recently restyled and there is a slow combustion fire to add ambience (fire logs are provided). AC - reverse cycle, TV, DVD player  and  free Wi-Fi are available for our guests use.

The indoor dining table comfortably seats four while outside the dining table on your private back deck, next to your BBQ, overlooks your own private, fully fenced garden. This is a gorgeous spot to take in the scene of annual shrubs and mature trees that provide so much tranquility.

While no one wants to think too seriously about house work while they are on holidays sometimes necessity demands a step back into the mundane. We have provided an automatic washing machine, clothes dryer, and  clothes drying rack, iron and ironing board.

A recently installed  modern kitchen features quality appliances (dishwasher, stove top, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle) as well as matching crockery, glassware and utensils. Complementary gourmet teas and freshly ground coffee are also available for our guests.

Cyclists are welcome at Tyntynder.  As a Ride High Country preferred business we want to ensure both you and your bike enjoy your stay.  Brushes, buckets and a hose are available for bike washing and bikes are welcome to be stored  in the lock-up shed or consideratley indoors. As bike riders, we understand the passion!
